3.3 - Record: Manual handling sign-off

4.0 - Cleaning Procedures (Job-Specific) Objective: Ensure consistent and high-quality cleaning standards.

4.1 - Covers: Area-specific cleaning (offices, kitchens, washrooms) Cross-contamination prevention Colour-coded systems Safe use of wet floor signage

4.2 - Practical: Shadowing experienced staff Supervised cleaning tasks

4.3 - Record: Supervisor observation notes

5.0 - Equipment Use Objective: Ensure safe and correct use of cleaning equipment.

5.1 - Covers: Vacuum operation and checks Mop and bucket systems Basic electrical safety Fault reporting procedures

5.2 – Practical: Demonstration and supervised use of equipment

5.3 - Record: Equipment competency sign-off

6.0 - Incident & Safety Reporting Objective: Ensure all incidents and hazards are reported correctly.

6.1 - Covers: What to report (accidents, near misses) Reporting process Importance of reporting

6.2 - Record: Verbal confirmation + inclusion in induction

Final Competency Assessment The operative must demonstrate competence in all areas listed above to the satisfaction of the assessor. The operative must not work unsupervised until competency has been formally confirmed.
